Chris Connell, an internationally renowned Melbourne based designer, has over twenty years experience and a reputation for elegantly shaping residential and commercial interiors, whilst creating and manufacturing objects and furniture.
In addition to numerous residential projects, he has designed many favourite Melbourne dining and shopping spots which include Carousel, Mr Wolf, Melbourne Wine Room, Pizza e Birra, Cafe Veloce, Pizza e Vino, the Prince Wine Store, Dinosaur Designs and Aquila as well as 8 over 8, E&O and the Great Eastern Dining Room in London. He is now regarded as one of Australia's leading designers.
Connell is known for simplicity and attention to detail in the design of his interior and architectural projects as well as in his furniture. Since 1986 Chris has been designing for MAP International and since 1995 his Pepe chair has been in the permanent collection of New York's Museum of Modern Art.
MAP International, a furniture, object and artefact design business, operates in sync with and alongside Chris Connell Design. Chris is design director for both companies.
